Pay Gap at Vertas Group Reduces for Fourth Consecutive Year

To coincide with International Women’s Day 2021 Vertas Group has released its Gender Pay Gap Report, reporting a drop for the fourth consecutive year.

Among our 4,000-strong workforce comprising 71% women and 29% men, Vertas is delighted to report that its median gender pay gap of -3.30% is significantly better than the UK’s median gender pay gap of 15.5%. This reflects the group making positive inroads into achieving a balanced GPG.

The gender pay gap is an analysis of the difference between what men and women earn in the workplace, and as an organisation with more than 250 employees, Vertas Group is required by law to submit annual gender pay gap figures to the Government.

Since 2017, we have seen a total Mean GPG reduction of 11.1% and a total Median GPG reduction of 5.8%. The number of women in senior roles – Senior Leadership Team and above – is 61%.

Ian Surtees MBA FIoD, Group Chief Executive Officer said of the report: “Our business continues to grow across the UK and the FM services that we offer our clients will typically attract a variety of working arrangements, including term time and flexible zero hours.

“Vertas Group offer all employees other flexible benefits such as a Colleague Discount scheme with retailers, leisure providers, cinemas etc. We also offer a suite of health and wellbeing resources to actively encourage our colleagues to take time to care for themselves.

“In our annual Colleague Survey we achieved an impressive 79% total colleague engagement rating which evidences that our colleagues enjoy working for us, feel protected, safe and motivated in the workplace.

“We have a variety of learning and development opportunities across the Group and support colleagues who wish to embark on a fully funded apprenticeship to learn new skills and/or enhance their career opportunities.”
