As the Premises Responsible Person you have a duty to manage the day-to-day health and safety within your premises. We provide face to face training to ensure you understand your role in meeting legislative requirements.

Premises Management Training

This course is designed to assist an appointed Responsible Person in being aware of their legal duties when managing a site. It is suitable for any staff responsible for running sites, i.e. Head Teachers, Business Managers, and Caretakers.

This session is free for Suffolk County Council employees, and LA maintained school staff. Price per person: £75-00 Plus VAT for Academy and Trust staff.

Premises Management Training

Fire Warden Training

The aim of the course is to reinforce the role of the Fire Warden in adherence to the procedures in place. It will also raise awareness of the role of the Fire Warden on a day-to-day basis.

Learning objectives

  • Fire safety legislation and how to comply with it, including statutory requirements
  • The role of the fire warden in the workplace
  • How to support individuals during an evacuation
  • Understand the importance of a prompt and safe evacuation
  • Common workplace fire hazards and how to mitigate them
  • How fire spreads and how to prevent it
  • Overview of fire extinguishers

Please note, there is no practical use of fire extinguishers on this course. Price per person: £75-00 Plus VAT.


 

First Aid Training

The provision of First aid in the workplace is a legal requirement. Through APW, we offer regulated courses designed for those who work in lower risk settings, where a more focused level of emergency First Aid is suited to commonly arising situations.

Learning objectives

  • Gain an insight into health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Understand how to manage an incident
  • Learn the priorities of first aid including, resuscitation, bleeding, treatment of an unconscious casualty and treatment of shock
  • Courses can be tailored to particular workplaces, i.e. focussing on children for schools
