The Role:

Working closely with the Business Development and Operations teams, you will be supporting them by reviewing new contracts, highlighting new opportunities and in the conversion of Service Density and Retention opportunities. Customer focus and a strong undertsanding of the solutions Vertas offer through our services is key.

Main responsibilities for the Business Development Executive

  • To support the Business Development Team operation
  • Regular review of contracts out to tender both on a regional and national level, sharing information with the BD Team and Heads of Services.
  • Provide regular feedback to the BD team on opportunities
  • Maintain and update Salesforce communicating with the BD team as needed
  • To identify opportunities for campaigns and services and fix direct meetings with clients to lead to sales opportunities and increase in sales
  • To support the BD team in producing winning proposals, tenders, and prequels, including final presentations, and any general correspondence
  • Create and manage account strategy plans for prospects, build customer and competitor analysis and proactively obtain market intelligence
  • To support the preparation of costing proposals in line with company policy re profit/earnings
  • To Manage workload and priorities for the BD team, ensuring timeframes for information gathering from our teams, responses and submissions
  • From time to time, assist in the development of brands and themes for testing in existing/new business.
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of a contract database.
  • To assist and/or advise Team Members within our existing client base, as requested

The Business Development Executive will have:

  • Previous Bid Admin experience preferable
  • Willing to learn and support team members
  • Passionate and motivated to succeed, with a view to managing smaller tenders of less than £100K
  • Proactive, accurate with an eye for detail
  • An ability to communicate at all levels
  • Well organised
  • Thrives in a high-pressure environment and enjoys success
  • Possibility for a graduate looking to their first steps in BD
